- Basmati Rice – 2 cups
- Water – 4 cups
- Spinach ¼ cup
- Onion – 2
- Ghee – 4 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Tomatoe – 1 piece
- Salt – as per taste
Soak the rice for 30 min. Meanwhile, start doing the preparations steps.
Blanched spinach add in a food processor and make a puree with 1 tbsp. water and keep aside.
In a Pot, add onion sauté and fry till it becomes tender. Add salt at this stage.
Add the spinach puree now. Also add chopped tomato sauté till it is cook.
When the raw smell goes off from tomato, add turmeric powder. Add the water and allow to boil. Add the rice when the water starts boiling. Check for the salt. Give a stir and close the pot. Keep the flame low.
After 10 min, switch off the stove. add ghee to the pulao and give a stir without breaking the rice.
Serve hot with mild side like Raita. & Enjoy.
