This sweet is from ” Middle East Cuisine” and call it “Basbousa” very famous and prepared in all occasions, this cake is delicious and melting in mouth. Hope you’ll like ma recipe do try & let me know da feedback 🙂
2 1/2 cup fine semolina (460 grm.)
1/2 cup flour (60 grm)
1 1/2 tbsp baking pwd.
1/2 cup coconut flakes (50 grms)
1 cup melted butter (200 grms.)
1 tsp orange blossom water / Rose
1 cup curd (113 grm)
100 grm sugar
(Optional raisins Badam almonds few).
Pour semolina in a bowl, add sugar, baking pwd, flour, coconut flakes, orange blossom water / rose water, butter, curd. Mix with hand can be (add 3 tbsp milk – if necessary) rest for 30 minutes. Preheat oven 350 and grease the pan, spread batter, make desire shape diamond or square, decorate with almond and bake for 30 – 45 minutes.
Sugar Syrup :
Sugar 1 1/2 cup ( 340 grm)
1 cup water ( 235 ml),
1 tsp. Orange blossom / rose water.
Mix sugar water simmer for 5 minutes add orange blossom water. After bke semolina cke pour this warm syrup over the hot basbousa & Enjoy 🙂
