Sprout Moong / Mung Salad


Mung  / Moong bean sprouts are so small, they contain a concentrated amount of key vitamins and minerals such as iron, potassium, folate and vitamin C. They are also a good source of protein.

Ingredients :

1 cup whole moong (green lentils)
1 large tomato
1 large onion
4 green chillies
1 lemon
1 cucumber
½ tsp chilli pd.
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp kala namak
½ tsp jeera powder

1 bunch Cilantro

Salt to taste

Method :

Wash and soak the moong overnight.

Drain the water and add  moong (lentil) in a shallow container / tie in a muslin cloth and hang (tie, and in middle add some water).

Cover it and leave for 24 hrs in winter and 10-12 hours in summer.

Cut onion, tomatoes, cucumber, cilantro and green chillies into small pieces.

Mix all vegetables together with Sprout moong  and masalas, add salt and Squeeze lime juice.

Serve with Rice / for lunch at offices.
