Paneer Fatayer


This is Middle East Cuisine  – Lebanese snacks, they are bread -like pastries giled with variety of filling.

Fatayer stands at every corner in Kuwait, it’s very delicious & ma kids favorite too.

Ingredient’s :

For Pastry :

3 cup flour
1 tbsp.  Active dry yeast
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 large egg.
1/4 cup oil
1 cup warm milk.
1 tsp. Salt.

For Filling :

Ingredient’s :

200 grm paneer cheese
1 tsp dry mint
1 large egg yolk ( for egg wssh)

Method :

In a bowl mix the paneer cheese with dry mint and set aside.

Place all the pastry ingredients in the mixer bowl, mix until the dough softens. Knead for 4 minutes until smooth.

Cover and keep in a warm place for 10 minutes until its size doubles.

Use a cookie sheet.

Roll the dough until 3 mm thick. Cut into 5 – 6 cm circles.

Place one tsp. of filling in the center of each circle.  Close into a triangular shape.

Arrange the cheese fatayer in the cookie sheet,  leaving space between each

Cover and leave 15 minutes to rest. Brush the egg wash only yolk.

Bake for 15 – 20 minutes until golden. Serve warm
