Simple Thali / Saadi Boshi # 2


This simple meal for ma Sonshine as he comes from school and bit tired after a long day for him he love to play and enjoy his time rather then bzy with his bore book but sometime he love studies where more interesting story ……………

I want him to be happy and love to his book by only one way by cooking his favorite meal and he is more excited to have a plain thali and fry fish and papad well he say it chip and love to have too. Whenever i prepare he never miss to have hiding from his sister “Danica” be serve her this is what i love his naughty.

He love dal in any form i prepare dal soup specially it keep the body warm specially @ winter this thy need more @ these season and ma Princess’s favorite is squid in any form so both keeping in mind i made dal with squid chilly fry and papad.

Ma simple meal ingredients listed below.

Ingredients for Dal : 

  • Yellow Mung Dal  – 150 gms
  • Ghee  –  2 tbsp
  • Garlic Cloves –  6 piece (chopped into small)
  • Onion  –   1 (chopped into small)
  • Hing (Asofoetida) –  1 t/s
  • Turmeric Pwd. –  1 t/s
  • Curry Leaves  –   8
  • Mustard seeds  –  1 ½ tsp
  • Water  –  ½ cup
  • Coriander leaves fresh for garnish
  • Green or any pepper for garnish
  • Salt as per taste

Method

  • Firstly take a pressure cooker add mung dal add water & pressure cook the mung dal upto  3 whistles.
  • Meantime chopped the onion and garlic and keep a side.
  • Once dal cook take a wok add ghee add mustard seeds let it crack then add cumin let it crack then add curry leaves, garlic and sauté for a while then add hing then add the chopped onion and saute till it turn to translucent.
  • Now add turmeric pwd. and saute for a minute.
  • Mix the cook dal and see the consistency of dal and add accordingly to each desire.
  • Add salt for seasoning. Let the dal cook for about 10 mins more on medium flame or once it starts bubbling heavily.
  • Your Mung dal is ready. Serve hot with rice or Roti.
  • Garnish with few curry leaves or coriander leaves.

Ingredients for Squid chilly Fry : 

  • Squid – 200 gms (clean a chopped into small, apply salt a keep a side)
  • Garlic Cloves –  6 piece (chopped into small)
  • Onion –   2 (chopped into lengthwise)
  • Tomato –  1 (chopped into lengthwise)
  • Garam Masal – 1 ½  tbsp.
  • Water  –   1/3  cup
  • Soya Sauce –  1 tbsp.
  • Tomato Sauce – 1 tbsp.
  • Coriander leaves fresh for garnish
  • Salt as per taste

Method :

  • Firstly take a pressure cooker add squid add half cup water &  pressure cook upto  1 whistles.
  • Meantime chopped the onion and garlic and keep a side.
  • Then take a pan add the chopped garlic sauté for a while then add the onion and sauté till it is light translucent.  Then add the tomatoes and cook squid and sauté for while add garam masala soya & tomato sauce  add salt, 3 tbsp of water a cook for 5 minutes and close the flame.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Take a plate put white rice pour cook dal, squid, some pickle and fried papad.
